Ina was born and bred in South Africa and lives and practises as a clinician in Stellenbosch. She qualified at the University of Stellenbosch and graduated with her PhD from the University of the Western Cape. Her main clinical interest is musculoskeletal pain, professional ethics and development of the profession. Ina's enthusiasm in promoting best-practice is evident in the many CPD courses she presents to both local and international physiotherapists. She has published several articles and has presented papers at many national and international conferences. She has represented the South African physiotherapy community on EBP conferences, Direct Access Summits and WCPT focussed symposia on professional issues. Ina's professional experience includes forty years owning a musculoskeletal private practice, 25 years as senior Lecturer at the University of the Western Cape, 10 years as senior lecturer at Stellenbosch University. She has served the profession for many years, including being on the SASP NEC, as chair of the OMPTG and as President of the South African Society of Physiotherapy. Ina is actively involved in advocating the concept of ‘Advanced Practice in Physiotherapy’ in South Africa.
