Regenass, Thierry
Thierry Regenass was born in Geneva, Switzerland, and has over 25 years’ experience in international affairs, ranging from humanitarian and development issues to diplomacy and sport diplomacy. From 1989 to 1993 he was a delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), for which he held different assignments in the field and at headquarters. In 1994 he joined the Swiss diplomatic service, with postings in Bangkok, Washington, DC, Nairobi, as well as at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Bern where he served as Deputy Head of division for Africa and the Middle East. In 2008 he was the diplomatic adviser to the Swiss President Mr. Pascal Couchepin. He then joined FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), where he held the position of Director of Member Associations and Development between 2008 and 2016. Thierry Regenass holds a Master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva.
Thierry Regenass is the Executive Director of the ICRC MoveAbility Foundation since January 2017
