Bursary programme [1]
The bursary programme is now closed and all applicants have been notified of the outcome.
The World Physiotherapy board made the decision to use £10,000 of the profit from the congress in 2019 to support a bursary programme for the online congress in 2021. This has been supplemented by donations from participants registering for the congress.
As a result of this generosity more than 120 bursary recipients will be supported. We will be following up with them to share their stories with you.
How will the applications be assessed?
A bursary application must demonstrate how the applicant will:
- use the personal benefits for their continuing professional development
- share the benefits with colleagues
- use the learning and opportunities provided to support the development of the profession locally/nationally
A World Physiotherapy review panel will assess the applications and applicants will be notified of the outcome by 2 March 2021.
If my application is successful, how will I access the bursary?
Successful applicants will be sent instructions on how to register for congress and any arrangements to support a data package, where included. Bursary recipients must sign an undertaking indicating that any expenses/payments made on their behalf will be repaid if they do not take part in the World Physiotherapy Congress 2021 online.
Will I have to write a report?
Successful applicants must prepare a report on their experiences by the end of June 2021 and submit this to World Physiotherapy. A further report may be requested 12 months after the congress. Information provided within these reports may be used by World Physiotherapy in its website, e-newsletters and other promotional media.
