Present position: Head of the Department / Senior Lecturer, Department of Physiotherapy, General Sri John Kotelawala Defence University in Sri Lanka.
Educational qualification: Master of Philosophy (Research), Bachelor of Science Degree (BioScience), Diploma in Physiotherapy,Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education. Professional positions held: Course Coordinator and Visiting lecturer BSc in Physiotherapy (External) Degree programme, Visiting lecturer and External examiner for B.Sc Physiotherapy degree programme at University of Colombo, Sri Lanka (from 2011 to date). Chief Physiotherapist - Burns and Reconstructive Surgical Unite, National Hospital of Sri Lanka (November 2002 to December 2017).
Professional experience: Physiotherapist at National Hospital of Sri Lanka from February 1991 to December 2017, Volunteer physiotherapist for Disabled Children.
Scholarships and awards: The Fulbright Professional Scholarship was awarded, The World Health Organization (WHO) Fellowship was awarded, Research and Innovation Award in 2017.
Scientific communications: Peer-reviewed and an indexed journal full paper publications and Scientific presentations at national and international scientific forums. (Presented at WCPT congress)
Research experience to date: Supervisor and examiner for undergraduate research projects, Member of Ethics Review committee and research evaluation committee for Undergraduates at Faculty of Allied Heath Sceinces.Executive committee member of Sri Lanka Society of Physiotherapy (Professional body) at several times and Assistant Secretory from 2015 to 2018.
