Dr Daniel O'Brien (PhD) is a senior lecturer in the Physiotherapy Department at the Auckland University of Technology (AUT), Aotearoa/New Zealand. He has a clinical background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, and is a past president of the New Zealand Manipulative Physiotherapy Association (NZMPA). Dr O'Brien is based within the ALARA research group at AUT (https://hrri.aut.ac.nz/research-activities/active-living-and-rehabilitation). His research focuses on the management of osteoarthritis (OA), with past and current projects exploring OA health and illness beliefs, OA treatment quality, OA models of care and knowledge mobilisation.
