Drs.
Yvonne van Zaanen -de Leeuw has been a physiotherapist in Occupational Health
& Ergonomics (OH&E, Dutch register) for 22 years. In 2015 she
completed her master in Evidence Based Practice (Clinical Epidemiologist) and is
now working on her PhD at Amsterdam UMC, department of Public and Occupational
Health. Yvonne is president of the Dutch association of Physiotherapists in OH&E
since 2015 and vice-president of the newly established International Federation
of Physical Therapists working in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (WCPT 2019,
Geneva). Her main goal is to contribute to Evidence Based Practice for physiotherapists
specializing in OH&E. By participating in the updating of Physiotherapists Guidelines
in the Netherlands she is drawing attention to labor participation and appropriate
outcome measures. In 2018 she guest edited FysioPraxis (Dutch) special issue about
work, 'Three out of ten working patients expect no clinical improvement of
their ability to perform work-related knee-demanding activities after total
knee arthroplasty: A Multicenter Study' was published internationally and four
publications for physiotherapists and occupational physicians appeared
nationally. In 2019 she was awarded with the Dutch Applied Ergonomics Award for
her work on physical load in healthcare providers 'Care for dressing' and became
Human Factors_NL Congress session leader in 2020.
