Rudi Steenbruggen PT MBA is a former physiotherapist who works as course director of physiotherapy at Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Enschede (NL). Before this, he worked 15 years as a manager of allied health care in the Isala Clinics Zwolle, the largest general teaching hospital in the Netherlands. He is a board member of the Dutch Association for Physical Therapy in Hospitals (NVZF) and a Ph.D. candidate at the Radboud University of Nijmegen (NL) on the subject of quality improvement of hospital-based physiotherapy. His most recent publication was in 2020 in the British Medical Journal on the subject of the development of quality indicators for hospital-based physiotherapy. On this subject, he presented in 2020 during the Combined Sections Meeting 2020 of the APTA in Denver (USA) as a platform speaker. During the business leadership conference of the Australian Physiotherapy Association in Darwin, he presented the topic of outsourcing of departments of hospital-based physiotherapy. Also, a poster presentation on this subject was held in 2018 during Physiotherapy UK in Birmingham.
