Christakou, Anna

Dr. Anna Christakou is a Member of the Executive Committee of the International Confederation of Cardiorespiratory Physical Therapists (ICCrPT). She is a part-time Lecturer in the Department of Physiotherapy, University of West Attica, Athens, Greece.She has been a clinical physiotherapist at Evagelismos General Hospital in Athens. She has extensive clinical experience in ICU and is actively involved in research and development in ICU, respiratory and musculoskeletal health. She has 57 publications in peer reviewed International and Greek journals, over 200 presentations, 5 book chapters and over 350 citations. She has teaching experience in BSc and MSc programmes and successfully supervised Bachelor and MSc student in the Department of Physiotherapy; the School of Sports Science and Physical Education and the School of Medicine. She has been the supervisor of a project at First Critical Care Medicine at Evangelismos Hospital and has participated in other research projects in ICU. She is a fundamental member of the Scientific Section of Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation of Pan-Hellenic Physiotherapy Association from 2014 and the last 4 years as a Coordinator. Current research projects include the examination of inspiratory muscle training in ICU patients, quality of life, functional state of difficult to wean patients in ICU.
