Desmeules, François

François Desmeules is a physiotherapist with a Ph.D. in epidemiology. His is currently director of the Advanced Practice Physiotherapy (APP)Training Program and an Associate Professor in the School of Rehabilitation at the University of Montreal, Montreal, Canada. He teaches in the program, evidence based physiotherapy practice, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and APP practice. He conducts research in the Orthopaedic clinical research unit at the Centre de recherche de l'Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont (CRHMR). His research interests include: 1- Evaluation of the effectiveness of common orthopaedic and physiotherapy interventions for musculoskeletal disorders. 2-Evaluation of new professional role for physiotherapists (advanced practice/extended scope) 3-Diagnosis of shoulder and lower limb musculoskeletal disorders and 4- development of practice guidelines and literature reviews of common orthopaedic and physiotherapy interventions for musculoskeletal disorders.
