Nnenna Nina Chigbo has twenty years clinical and teaching experience as a physiotherapist with a Masters Degree in Public Health. She has been awarded the prestigious Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship granted by the Fulbright Scholarship Board under the US Department of State which earned her a Global Health fellowship in Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. Equally awarded the International Haemophilia Training Center Fellowship award (2018).
Ms Chigbo served as a guest researcher with the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD & TB Prevention Unit of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. She is currently serving as the President of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP) and the Education Director WPT-International Physiotherapists in HIV/AIDS, Oncology, Hospice and Palliative Care which awarded her the inaugural Nnenna Chigbo Award of Educational Excellence in 2019.
She heads the Exercise Immunology Unit of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital where she designs exercise protocols for people with deranged immune systems and bleeding disorders. She is a resource person to many organizations, presented in numerous international conferences including WPT congresses and hosted an Indaba session. She has recent publications in COVID-19, HIV/AIDS, Cancer and Palliative Care and Haemopoetic Stem cell transplant.
