Dr Sibyl Edward is a St. Lucian with over thirty years of experience as a Physiotherapist. She earned her undergraduate qualifications from the University of the West Indies School of Physiotherapy, Mona, Jamaica and a DPT from Utica College, New York. Sibyl is currently the Senior Physiotherapist at the Owen King - EU Hospital in Castries. Her clinical experiences encompass several domains of physiotherapy and she has the additional passion of teaching, with close to eight years experience as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Post Professional Transitional Doctoral Program at the Utica College (subject areas including, ethical frameworks for clinical reasoning and decision making). Sibyl is also the Vice Chair of the North America Caribbean Region of World Physiotherapy, founding member of the Physiotherapy Association of Saint Lucia Inc. (as well as the immediate past President and current Secretary of this Association), a Member of the Adhoc Committee of the Allied Health Council of St. Lucia and a member of the Environmental Physiotherapy Association. As a physiotherapist practicing in the Caribbean, she has seen first-hand the impact of climate change on the Caribbean islands and is interested in highlighting the role the profession can play in climate change mitigation.
