Physiotherapist with 20 years of experience in the field of University Education both undergraduate and graduate. Sonia has a Masters in University Teaching and a Masters in Public Health. She has 18 years of clinical experience in women's health, particularly in pregnancy and the post-partum period. For the last 12 years, she is the Director of Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Therapy Diploma. In recent years, her work as researcher has been focused on physical activity and women's health with qualitative and quantitative methodology, especially in primary health care. She is currently Postgraduate Subdirector of the Physical Therapy School of Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago, Chile, where she has implemented university training programs in different Physical Therapy fields. She is the current President of the Chilean Organization for Physical Therapy in Women's Health and Vice President of IOPTPWH. One of her most important achievements has been to lead the "Physical Therapy in Women's Health Program" at Universidad del Desarrollo Clinic, which provides free care to low-income women with specific life cycle dysfunctions, mainly obstetric and pelvic floor disorders.
