Bio
Jerome earned his bachelor’s from the University of the Philippines – Manila (UPM) and was recognized by the College of Allied Medical Professions (CAMP) with the 2017 Outstanding Student Leader award. During his undergraduate years, he served as the President of the Association of Philippine Physical Therapy Students (APPTS) in 2015. Their organization pioneered student-led events such as inter-collegiate sportsfest, charity events for persons with disabilities, educational seminars, and hosted the annual student congress.
In 2018, he started his career as a physio in a community-based palliative care setting and in a private tertiary hospital. Discovering his passion for spinal disorders and scoliosis, he took post-graduate training in physiotherapy scoliosis-specific exercises (PSSE) and founded ScolioHub, Philippines’ first PT clinic promoting evidence-informed scoliosis rehabilitation in 2020.
His international student network started from his role as the Philippine representative and Internal Affairs Officer in Asia Physical Therapy Student Association (APTSA) in 2016 and as the Asia Western Pacific regional facilitator for World Physiotherapy Future Network (WPFN) in 2019.
He is currently the Chair for the World Physiotherapy Future Network for students and early career professionals.
