Leanne Hassett (PhD; MHlthSc(NeuroPHTY); BAppSc(PHTY)) is a Senior Lecturer in the Discipline of Physiotherapy at The University of Sydney, leading the Neurology teaching team. She is also a Senior Research Fellow in the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health at The University of Sydney, leading the research theme of physical activity for people with physical disabilities. She was a lead Investigator and Manager for the NHMRC funded Activity and MObility UsiNg Technology (AMOUNT) rehabilitation trial; the largest trial internationally investigating a tailored prescription of technology to increase physical activity and mobility in people receiving rehabilitation. She is now leading the dissemination and implementation work stemming from this trial. She is also a Chief Investigator on three current NHMRC funded trials investigating ballistic strength training to improve mobility in people after severe traumatic brain injury, physical activity coaching for adults with physical disability, and implementing brief physical activity counselling by physiotherapists. Dr Hassett has over 50 publications and has attracted over $3 million AUD in grants and fellowships as a Chief Investigator.
