Sheree Chapman York, PT, DPT, PCS is Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She received BS and MS degrees in Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her DPT from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. She completed a Maternal and Child Health Fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is an American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties pediatric certified clinical specialist. Dr. York has worked in pediatric physical therapy including schools, preschools, clinics, and as a pediatric specialist for the Alabama State Department of Education. She was Director of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Early Intervention for the Children's Hospital of Alabama. She teaches courses in Pediatrics and Professional Practice Management. Her research interests include outcomes for premature infants, children and adults with cerebral palsy, and constraint-induced therapy. Dr. York's professional volunteer roles have included: APTA Governance Review, CSM Review, Learning Center Task Force ; Alabama Chapter President, Legislative Chair, Chief Delegate; and Academy of Pediatric PT President, Vice President, Regional Director, Education Committee Chair, and Hospital-based Chair. She has served as Secretary and is current President the World Physiotherapy IOPTP.
