I qualified as a physiotherapist in 1984 in South Africa and obtained a Masters degree in Physical rehabilitation in 2009. I have a special interest in the rehabilitation of persons with spinal cord injuries and together with that also an interest in wheelchair seating. In 1993 was one of the founding members of the Southern African Spinal Cord Association (SASCA) and served on the executive committee till 2010. Joined the International network of Spinal Cord Physiotherapists (SCIPT) in 2008 and currently is the chairperson of the Network. In 2015 was one of the founding members of the African Spinal Cord injury Network (AFSCIN) and serves on the executive committee to date.
I work as the manager of a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation practice who are providing rehabilitation services at 5 different rehabilitation facilities in South Africa.
Presenting full-day workshops on Outcomes Oriented rehabilitation as well as Basic wheelchair seating on a yearly basis for the last 5 years.
