Masters of Science in Physiotherapy 2007, PhD in Health Sciences, 2012 Hanan interests include and exercise and related measures in people with neurodegenerative disease. The objective is to develop approaches to maximizing opportunities for these patients to engage in exercise. Hanan’s further research interest includes mental health in those who have experienced trauma which entails development of a physiotherapy guideline in collaboration with Centre of Victims of Torture of how to deal with traumatized refugees who have experienced torture and still suffering from post traumatic stress disorders and other mental health issues. Over the last 9 years, Hanan have published several peer-reviewed articles and successfully obtained seed funding for several studies (both observational and interventional). Hanan also led several educational courses in this area at the level of the Middle East countries. As recognition of these efforts, Hanan won the L’Oréal UNESCO for Women In Science Levant fellowship and more recently was selected for the TechWomen Emerging Leader Program award and the Movement Disorders’ Society (MDS) LEAP program for young leaders.
