Locke, Melissa

Melissa Locke PT, FACP, MAICD is co-owner of Movement Solutions Physiotherapy, a private practice that operates from three locations in South East Queensland (Australia) and provides physiotherapy services to children, teens, and adults of all abilities. Melissa has a strong passion for good corporate governance and ensuring financial sustainability for physiotherapy services. She is the current Vice President and Chair of the Finance Committee of the World Physiotherapy, a previous Chair and President of the Australian Physiotherapy Association Board and a passionate clinical educator of physiotherapists. Melissa was the first physiotherapist in Australia to receive Clinical Specialization in Pediatrics (Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists). Her contributions to the physiotherapy profession through her clinical, academic and governance experience have been acknowledged via the Australian Physiotherapy Association Queensland Branch President’s Award (2010) and the receipt of an Australian Physiotherapy Association Lifetime (Honored) Membership in 2017. She is the current Chair of the Australian Physiotherapy Council, which accredits entry level Physiotherapy degrees and assesses overseas qualified physiotherapists wanting to work in Australia.
