Alessandra Garcia is a physiotherapist, specialist in public health, reviewer of scientific medical and physical therapy journals, and an assistant professor at Campbell University, US. Her training was heavily oriented towards general orthopedic rehabilitation, with emphasis on patients with spine pain. Alessandra has a master's and a PhD degree in low back pain from the University City of Sao Paulo in Brazil. She developed the ability to perform randomized controlled trials, secondary analysis of trials, and systematic reviews with a focus on the effectiveness of interventions and the reliability of assessment methods in physical therapy. Her post-doctoral experience at Duke University, US, where she broadened her ability to work on diagnostic accuracy studies on spine and shoulder disorders. She has published in leading discipline-specific journals (e.g., Physical Therapy, JOSPT, BJPT, and Eur Spine Journal).
