Professor Rob Herbert is Senior Principal Research Scientist at NeuRA (in Sydney, Australia), NHMRC Principal Research Fellow, Conjoint Professor at the University of New South Wales and Honorary Professorial Fellow at the George Institute for Global Health. He was formerly Scientific Editor of the Australian Journal of Physiotherapy (now the Journal of Physiotherapy), and was one of the founders of the PEDro database and, more recently, of the DiTA database of studies of diagnostic test accuracy. He conducts clinical research in physiotherapy and studies in human muscle physiology and biomechanics.
